Joyin instead of Telemost: a meeting by link, no account

Telemost is a good service while it is up and while the host can sign in to a Yandex account. Joyin needs no account at all: one button, the link is ready, guests join from the browser. It works as a main tool and as a backup for outages.

Who needs a backup

Teachers and tutors

The lesson is on schedule and the service will not open. A new link in the class chat, and the lesson starts on time.

Teams

The stand-up does not wait for a fix. The backup link is pinned in the work chat and everyone knows where to go.

Webinar hosts

A hundred people showed up on time. Moving the meeting takes a minute instead of ruining the session.

Anyone with a meeting in five minutes

No time to sign up and confirm an email. Here you do not have to.

How Joyin differs from Telemost

A meeting without an account

The host needs no Yandex ID and no sign-in of any kind. Telemost cannot create a meeting without an account.

Join from any browser

A guest opens the link on a phone or computer and types a name. Nothing to install.

Server-side recording

One button in any browser, the file appears in the dashboard. Telemost records to the device: up to 30 minutes in Chrome, not available in Firefox or on phones.

Breakout groups

Split the meeting into pairs or teams with a task and a timer, then bring everyone back. Free.

Independent infrastructure

Joyin servers are not tied to Yandex: when there is an outage there, everything works here. The nearest server is picked automatically.

Live streams

Go live from a browser or OBS to hundreds of viewers by link, with no separate service.

Questions about Telemost and Joyin

Telemost is not working, what do I do right now?

Create a meeting in Joyin and send participants the new link. No sign-up is needed and guests join from the browser. The whole thing takes less than a minute.

Do participants need to register?

No. A guest opens the link in a browser, types a name and joins. Only the host needs an account, and only for history and recordings.

Is there a time limit?

No. A meeting lasts as long as you need. Telemost has no time limit either; the differences are elsewhere: account, recording, groups.

How does recording work?

One button in any browser, and it runs on the server. The file appears in the host's dashboard and is kept for 3 days, or 30 days with a Summary pack.

How many people can join a meeting?

Up to 100 participants. For larger audiences there are live streams: viewers watch by link without sign-up.

Does Joyin depend on Yandex?

No. Joyin runs its own servers in Tashkent and in other countries, and we keep adding new ones. A meeting needs no sign-in at all.
