Service rules

JoyIn streaming rules

A stream is watched by strangers — sometimes hundreds of them. That is why streaming carries more requirements than a regular meeting. By going live you accept these rules and take responsibility for what happens on camera and in the chat.

In force since 1 August 2026

What's allowed

  • Lessons, lectures, reviews, presentations and webinars.
  • Showing your work: code, design, repairs, cooking, training, workshop.
  • Talking to viewers, answering chat questions, running discussions.
  • Sharing your screen and any materials you hold the rights to.
  • Inviting co-hosts — they join your room as regular participants.
  • Recording your stream and sharing a link to the recording.

What's not allowed

  • Violence and cruelty. Violent scenes, abuse of people or animals, threats, calls to harm yourself or others.
  • Sexual content. Pornography, nudity, explicit scenes and innuendo.
  • Harassment and hate. Insults and humiliation based on nationality, faith, gender, age, health or origin.
  • Prohibited goods. Drugs, weapons, forged documents, gambling — anything banned by law.
  • Fraud and deception. Collecting money by deception, financial pyramids, fake giveaways, fake charity drives.
  • Third-party content. Films, series, sports broadcasts, music, paid courses — without the rights to show them.
  • Other people's data. Passports, bank cards, private messages, addresses, phone numbers, recordings of other people's calls.
  • Dangerous stunts. Challenges and pranks that can hurt participants or bystanders.

Viewer rights

A viewer technically cannot publish video or audio: their access to the room is granted for watching only.

What moderation does

1WarningMinor issue — we ask you to fix it during the stream.
2Stream stoppedSerious violation — the stream is switched off without warning and cannot be restarted.
3Streaming restrictedRepeated violations — the account loses the ability to go live.
4Legal handoverIf a stream shows signs of a crime, materials and technical data are handed over at the request of authorities.

The host also moderates their own stream: they can delete a message and block a viewer — that is a tool against spam and harassment, not against inconvenient questions.

Frequently asked

Will everyone see my stream, or only people I send the link to?+

It depends on the “Show in the public streams section” checkbox. Without it, the stream opens only via a direct link and never appears in the public list.

Do viewers need an account?+

No. They open the link and enter a name — it is only used for chat.

How many viewers can a stream hold?+

There is currently a cap on simultaneous viewers per stream. Planning a bigger audience? Tell us in advance and we'll raise the limit and prepare the bandwidth.

Can I play background music?+

Only music you hold the rights to. Commercial tracks in a public stream infringe copyright.

What happens to the chat after the stream?+

Stream chat is not stored: messages live only while the broadcast is on.

Can two people host a stream?+

Yes. A co-host joins your room as a regular participant — their video and audio go out to viewers.

If something goes wrong

Spotted a violation in someone else's stream — press “Report” right inside it. Questions about your own stream, bugs and limit-raise requests go to support.
